Learning to recite the Quran for children with special needs requires strategies tailored to the characteristics, abilities, and needs of each student so that learning objectives can be achieved optimally. This study aims to describe the implementation of learning to recite the Quran for children with special needs, identify the methods used by teachers, identify obstacles encountered during the learning process, and describe the development of student abilities. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation of a teacher and two students at the Munggang Al-Muchtar Islamic Boarding School. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that learning is carried out through an individual approach by emphasizing habituation, repetition of material, and a gradual introduction to reading the Quran according to the student's abilities. The development shown by each child varies according to their potential, while the main obstacles include limited intellectual abilities, changes in concentration, and the emergence of boredom in learning. Teachers overcome these obstacles through individual mentoring, repeated practice, and ongoing communication with parents. This study concludes that learning to recite the Quran for children with special needs will be more effective if supported by flexible learning strategies, consistent mentoring, and good cooperation between teachers and parents to develop the religious abilities and potential of each student.
